Why the T5 Cuts Metal When Other Routers Cannot
The bed is the product here — inline welded, stress-relieved, then finish-machined in a single setup on a gantry mill.
A Bed Machined in One Setup
- Inline welded, quenched and stress-relieved frame
- Finish-machined in a single setup on a gantry mill — no accumulated error between faces
- Imported precision racks on X/Y, ground ball screw on Z, servo on all three
- For distributors: rigidity is what lets this machine quote aluminium, copper and carbon-fibre composite — that material list is the argument that moves a customer up from a wood-grade router
5.5 kW Water-Cooled, Metal-Capable
- 5.5 kW water-cooled spindle for sustained cutting in harder material
- Wood, acrylic, aluminium, copper, ACP, plastics and carbon-fibre composite
- G-code and PLT — Type3, Mastercam, ArtCAM, AutoCAD, UG, CorelDRAW
- For distributors: customers running aluminium consume cutters far faster than panel shops do — tooling reorders from a single T5 installation are worth more than from three sign machines. spare-parts commitment, territory and technical training are set out on our partnership page

How the T5 Bed Holds Precision
Geometric accuracy in a router is decided before any part is cut — it is built into the bed. The T5 starts from an inline welded steel structure that is quenched and stress-relieved so the welding stresses are released rather than left to slowly distort the frame in service.
Only after heat treatment is the bed finish-machined in a single setup on a high-accuracy gantry mill. Machining all reference surfaces in one operation means the rails, spindle plane and table share a common datum, eliminating the stack-up errors that appear when parts are machined separately and bolted together. Assembly components are produced on 5-axis machining centres for the same reason.
Motion is carried by imported precision racks on the long X/Y axes and a precision-ground ball screw on Z, driven by servo motors. The result is a rigid, repeatable platform whose accuracy holds up under continuous sheet-processing loads.
For shop planning, review OSHA guidance on machine guarding and wood dust exposure when routing wood, acrylic, ACP or composite boards. For international machine safety planning, ISO 19085-3 is a useful reference for numerically controlled boring and routing machines.
T5 Precision CNC Router FAQ
What is the T5 Precision CNC Router Used For?
The MNT T5 is used for precision engraving, milling and cutting of rigid sheet materials. It is suitable for acrylic, wood, aluminium, copper, ACP, engineering plastics and carbon-fibre composite parts.
What Materials Can the T5 Cut and Engrave?
The T5 can process wood, acrylic, aluminium, copper, aluminium composite panel, plastics and carbon-fibre composite. The final result depends on material thickness, cutter type, spindle speed, feed rate and work-holding method.
What Makes the T5 a Precision CNC Router?
The T5 uses an inline welded, stress-relieved bed that is finish-machined in one setup. This helps improve frame rigidity, geometric accuracy and long-term machining stability.
What is the Working Area of the T5?
The standard T5 working area is 1300 × 2500 mm. This 1325 size is suitable for full-size boards, acrylic sheets, advertising panels, aluminium composite panels and medium-format industrial parts.
What Spindle Does the T5 Use?
The T5 uses a 5.5 kW water-cooled industrial spindle. It provides stable high-speed cutting performance for engraving, routing and milling rigid sheet materials.
Why Does the T5 Use Servo Motors?
Servo motors help improve motion stability, response speed and repeatability. They are suitable for buyers who need more stable accuracy than basic stepper-driven CNC routers.
Why Does the T5 Use Racks on X/Y and a Ball Screw on Z?
The imported precision racks support stable movement across the long X/Y working area. The precision-ground ball screw on the Z axis helps improve vertical positioning accuracy for engraving, milling and depth-controlled cutting.
What Software and File Formats Does the T5 Support?
The T5 supports G-code and PLT files. It can work with common CAD/CAM workflows from Type3, Mastercam, ArtCAM, AutoCAD, UG, CorelDRAW and other compatible software.
How is the T5 Different from the T3 Vision CNC Router?
The T3 is designed for high-speed vision contour cutting and print-to-cut advertising work. The T5 is designed for higher precision routing, engraving and machining of rigid materials such as acrylic, aluminium, copper and composites.
Can the T5 Machine Aluminium and Copper?
Yes. The T5 can process aluminium and copper when the right cutter, spindle speed, feed rate, cooling method and holding method are used. Please confirm your thickness, drawing and surface requirement before ordering.
What Should I Prepare Before Installation?
Please prepare AC 380V / 50Hz / 3-phase power, enough floor space, dust extraction, suitable cutters, CAD/CAM files and trained operators. MNT can confirm the site requirements before delivery.
