The M3015 drives its XYZ axes with direct-drive transmission rather than rack-and-pinion. On rack systems, backlash and wear in the gear mesh gradually erode accuracy; direct drive removes that mesh, so the M3015 holds ±0.02 mm positioning and ±0.01 mm repeatability over a long service life.

It is built on a heavy annealed steel frame with a fixed-column gantry and moving table — the gantry stays put while the table carries the work, which keeps the cutting forces close to the most rigid part of the structure and minimises vibration.
