What the C2516T Cuts — and Mills

The MNT C2516T is a 2500 × 1600 mm digital cutting machine that carries both a knife head and a milling spindle on the same gantry. That combination is what separates it from a plain oscillating-knife table: soft goods are cut cold with the EOT blade, while acrylic, aluminium composite panel and MDF up to 20 mm are milled with the spindle — without moving the job to a second machine.

A full 4 × 8 ft sheet fits inside the 2500 × 1600 mm bed in one placement, and belt auto-feeding lets roll and long sheet stock run continuously. Vacuum adsorption holds porous and lightweight material flat, and the CCD camera follows printed registration marks for contour cutting on printed sheet.

Materials and thickness on the C2516T

Material Typical thickness Tool
Corrugated, cardboard, grey board, KT board ≤ 20 mm EOT + creasing / V-cut
Acrylic, aluminium composite panel, MDF ≤ 20 mm Milling spindle
PVC foam board, honeycomb board, rigid foam ≤ 50 mm EOT
Rubber, silicone, graphite, PTFE, gasket sheet ≤ 30 mm POT (optional)
Leather, felt, technical textile, carbon fabric ≤ 10 mm EOT or rotary wheel
Self-adhesive vinyl, reflective film, photo panel ≤ 3 mm Drag tool / kiss-cut

Thickness depends on density and blade choice. Send a sample and we return a free test cut with edge photos before you commit.

Sheet behaviour varies by grade and brand, and the settings above assume good stock. Cast acrylic from Röhm and aluminium composite panel from 3A Composites are the two we see most often on customer benches — both publish machining data worth checking against the feeds and speeds we quote.

Why C2516T

Why the C2516T Is the Workhorse of the C-Series

Every C-series machine can carry the same tools. The C2516T earns its place through bed size: a full 4 × 8 ft sheet in one placement, with a milling spindle fitted as standard because that is what full-sheet work usually needs. About MNT (MEINAITE) — who builds it and where.

Knife and Spindle Fitted as Standard

  • EOT blade for foam, board, gasket and textile — cold cut, no melt
  • 800 W–4 kW milling spindle for acrylic, ACP and MDF up to 20 mm
  • Both on one gantry — one setup, one operator, no second machine

Full-Sheet Bed with Auto-Feeding

  • 2500 × 1600 mm takes a 4 × 8 ft sheet in one placement
  • Belt auto-feeding runs roll and long sheet stock continuously
  • Vacuum adsorption holds porous and lightweight material flat

Camera Registration for Printed Work

  • CCD camera reads printed marks and corrects skew and stretch
  • Contour cutting stays square across a long print run
  • Cuts from HPGL, PLT and DXF straight out of your CAD or RIP

Buyer Checklist

What to Confirm Before You Order a C2516T

Confirm these before ordering — they change the build, not just the price:

  • Spindle rating — 800 W handles light acrylic and ACP trimming; 1.8 kW is the common choice for mixed board work; 4 kW is for continuous 20 mm acrylic and MDF milling.
  • Tool count on the head — every extra module (POT, V-cut, creasing, kiss-cut, rotary) occupies a slot; list the processes you run in one job so we size the head correctly.
  • Vacuum zoning — small parts on a large bed waste suction; tell us your typical part size so the table is zoned to match.
  • Feeding — belt auto-feeding suits roll and long sheet; single-sheet work does not need it.
  • Power supply — 380 V three-phase is standard; confirm your local supply early, a transformer is an option not an afterthought.
FAQ

C2516T Buyer and Technical FAQs

How Do I Choose Between the C6090, C2516T and C3232?

All C-series machines share the same cutting platform, control software and tool range — the difference is working size and which tools come fitted as standard. Any tool on the list (milling spindle, POT pneumatic, EOT electric, rotary, V-cut, kiss-cut, creasing, wheel) can be specified on any model.

Model Working size Standard tool head Typical work
C6090 600 × 900 / 600 × 1200 / 900 × 1200 mm EOT + creasing Finishing printed output from photo, UV and DTF printers
C2516T 2500 × 1600 mm EOT + drag tool + milling spindle Full 4 × 8 ft sheet, mixed rigid and soft material
C3232 3200 × 3200 mm POT pneumatic + EOT Oversized sheet, gasket and sealing materials

So choose by the sheet size you handle most often and the processes you run every day — not by worrying that a model will lack a capability. We configure the head around your job list.

How Thick Can the C2516T Cut?

Up to 50 mm depending on material and tool. Rigid foam and honeycomb reach the full 50 mm with the EOT blade; acrylic, ACP and MDF are milled up to 20 mm with the spindle; gasket materials such as rubber, silicone and graphite run to about 30 mm with the optional POT pneumatic head. Density and blade choice move these numbers, so send a sample for a test cut.

Which Tools Come as Standard and Which Are Optional?

Standard: EOT electric oscillating tool, drag tool (UCT) and the milling spindle. Optional: POT pneumatic oscillating tool, rotary tool, V-cut tool, kiss-cut tool, creasing tool and wheel tool. Each optional module takes a slot on the head, so tell us the processes you run in a single job and we size the head accordingly.

Do I Need the Milling Spindle?

Only if rigid sheet is on your job list. Acrylic, aluminium composite panel and MDF cannot be knife-cut at thickness, and those are what the spindle is for — up to 20 mm. If your material list is entirely foam, board, textile and gasket sheet, the knife head does everything and the spindle would sit idle. It is fitted as standard on the C2516T because that bed size usually means mixed rigid and soft work, but it is a configuration choice, not a fixed feature of the model.

Can It Cut Printed Sheet to the Printed Outline?

Yes. The CCD camera finds the printed registration marks, compensates for print stretch and skew, and cuts the contour to the artwork rather than to nominal coordinates. This is what keeps a long run of printed display panels square to the image.

What Power Supply Does It Need?

AC 380 V or 220 V ±10%, 50/60 Hz, with a total connected load of 9.5 kW including the 7.5 kW vacuum pump. Three-phase 380 V is the standard build. Confirm your local supply when you enquire — a power transformer is available as an option.

What Software Does It Run and What Files Does It Accept?

MNT intelligent cutting control software with path optimisation, overcut and arc compensation, cut simulation and multi-format import. It accepts HPGL, PLT and DXF among others and connects to any CAD package, so design and cutting can run at the same time. Auto-nesting software is available as an option.

How Long is Delivery and What Support Comes with It?

Machines are built to order; tell us your configuration and we confirm the schedule when quoting. Every machine includes 12-month warranty, lifetime software updates, and training and after-sales support both online and on site.
