For genuine leather, choose the oscillating knife. It is a cold-cutting process, so edges stay clean with no scorching, discoloration or burnt smell, and the natural grain is preserved. Lasers burn the edge and are generally unsuitable for real leather. A laser only makes sense for some thin synthetic sheets where an engraved look is acceptable.Can it cut multiple layers of leather at once?
Yes. For synthetic leather and thinner hides you can stack layers and cut them in one pass, which is common in footwear and bag production.
